The Bay Park Sewage Treatment Plant of Nassau County was devastated by superstorm Sandy in 2012 and Nassau County, NY issued an emergency bid for sludge dewatering services for this facility. Mobile Dredging & Video Pipe, Inc. (MDVP) won this contract which includes design, construction and operation of the sludge dewatering facilities for this 50 MGD wastewater treatment plant. Mobile installed and operates four belt filter presses in a fabricated enclosure to handle the year-round dewatering services required at this wastewater treatment plant. Up to 650,000 gallons of sludge per day are processed through the belt filter presses. A conveyor system moves the dewatered cake from the belt filter presses where it is loaded into trucks for disposal at off-site facilities.
